Formalized in 2018 in Switzerland and granted Observer Status of GAISF (the Global Association of International Sports Federations) in 2021, World Obstacle, the Fédération Internationale de Sports d’Obstacles (FISO), is recognized by the Alliance of Independent Recognized Members of Sports (AIMS, an IOC recognized organization) as the international governing body for Ninja Competitions, Obstacle Course Racing, Adventure Racing, related disciplines and events. FISO is a not-for-profit independent international organisation made up of volunteers to develop obstacle sports and represent the needs of its members. Member national federations in over 100 countries represent their athletes and members in the FISO Congress and propose and vote on policies and rules for their benefit. The Congress and Executive Committee are responsible for taking the main decisions for the organisation and implement recommendations for each sport.
